Movies and songs lifted from kannada to other languanges

In one of the threads of Kannada Audio Forums, our veteran member Arun started the discussion whether OM and other hit 90s movies were dubbed/remade in other languages.. here goes a big list.

OM was remade in Tamil and Telugu as OM and Omkaaram by Upendra featuring Dr.Rajshekar, Prema and Bhagyashree(Maine pyar kiya fame). Uppi used the entire kannada crew: hams music and BC Gowrishankar camera in the telugu and tamil movies. Dr.Rajshekar who was known for his "big mousch" roles.. appeared mouschless and the movie was a disaster in both languages.
Unlike the kannada movie that was a smash hit.. the telugu/tamil versions did not use the samskruta script of "OM" in the posters.. instead used the tamil and telugu scripts.

Nammoora mandara hoove was remade in Tamil (hesaru gottilla.. new actors, prema was the heroine.. same songs, same music by iLayaraaja)

bELadingaLa baale remade in Telugu as "hello... something "(not sure abt the name) Srikanth anno actor idda...glamourous songs ella haakidru.. and heroine tOristaare annisutte.. it was commercialized and was a flop

The telugu writer yandamuri veerendranath who wrote the novel liked the original kannada movie and was so thrilled seeing SK Desai's baale that he gave the rights to Desai to pick any of his novels or stories for his next movie. Desai did use yandamuri's short story that roughly dealt with "Mauna, maatu and prema" and made into the movie "premaraaga haaDu gelati"

Amruthavarshini was dubbed (voice) into telugu.

Sipaayi - by V ravichandran that had Chiranjeevi in the guest role and soundarya giving a very good performance with magnificent music by Hams, was dubbed in Telugu as "Commando" (or Commander)

Maduve - featuring Ramesh and Kumar Govind was remade in telugu.. the hit song O ambara taare, manjuLa dhaare was later used in a different tamil movie by the same music director S.A.Rajkumar

Anuraga Sangama was remade in Tamil 6 years after the movie was made in Kannada. it had Karthik(of agni nakshatram fame) and Ramki in the roles of Ramesh and Kumar Govind.

Janumada jODi kamsaaLe song na kelavu versions came in tamil antha Odida nenapu (not sure about this)

kilaaDigaLu - the (1994) movie by Vishnu/Dwarki which was actually loosely based on parts of Shruti sEridaaga (1990) actually "inspired" a tamiL movie called "uLLattai aLLittaa", (1996) that again came full cycle into kannada as "galaaTe aLiyandiru" (2000).
The hit song from kilaaDigaLu "karunaaDa kuvara kaNe" (Music: Raj-Koti), was re-used ad "Priya raagaale" in the super hit telugu movie "Hello Brother" (nagarjuna double role).. I am sure numerous kannadigaru would have heard the hello brother song but not the original kannada song. and still think that we copied the hello brother song. Ditto ditto with "muddina huDugi chenda maunada roopave anda", "aDavi deviya kaaDu janagaLa ee haaDu" from raayaru bandaru maavana manege.. these songs were re-used much later in telugu movies.

I will update the list as I recollect more information.

So give the kannada film makers a break. If we are copying a few movies now, others have copied plenty of movies in the very recent past.
